　　　　Thank you for visiting Studio BackBeat's website. I am Yoshi, owner of Studio BackBeat. I am a Drummer, Band/Instrument and Vocal Engineer. Though I work very hard at it, I do not speak English very well--we do have an English speaking engineer who is one of the top engineers in the music industry, don:t worry. I look forward to working with all of you.

 

▶MASON

　　Producer, Vocalist, Composer, Arranger, Pro Tools Engineer/Instructor and Mixing Engineer Mason (DMBOG); although widely associated with the Reggae/Hip-Hop/R&B styles of music, isn't attached to any particular style. Violin studies from the age of 8, Saxophone and Bass Guitar by the age of 14 all attributed to his teaching himself chord structure and harmony at the piano at age 18.

Mason began music professionally at his birthplace, Washington, D.C. Vocalists like Luther Vandross, Ron Isley, Bob Marley, Donny Hathaway, Third World and Frankie Beverly influenced his earlier vocal technique. He first toured Japan in 1989 with Japan Rap Group, "M-K Fresh", later touring with Mariah Carey in 1996, performing in front of capacity crowds at Japan's most major venue, Tokyo Dome.

While Mason loves being a vocalist, composer and arranger, production and engineering have been his principal voice to the world.

特にレゲエ / ヒップホップ / R&Bスタイルの音楽業界内で幅広く活動しているが、それらの音楽スタイルだけに固執する事なく、どんな音楽スタイルであっても情熱を持って取り組む姿勢を持つ。またバイオリンを8歳から習い、サックスとベースギターは14歳までにマスターした。それらの知識を得て、そして楽器を自在に演奏する事が出来るようになったという自信が、18歳の時から独学で学んだコードの構造やハーモニーを習得できるきっかけとなった。

誕生地であるワシントンDCで音楽のキャリアを積み始める。ルーサー・ヴァンドロス、ロン・アイズリー、ボブ・マーリー、ドニー・ハサウェイ、サードワールド、フランキー・ビバリー、らがメイソンの若い時代からのボーカルテクニックに多大な影響をもたらした。初めての日本でのツアーは1989年であり、"M-Kフレッシュ"というラップグループであった。そして最後のツアーは日本でも有名なステージの一つである東京ドームで1996年に行われたマライア・キャリーのコンサートステージである。

メイソンはボーカリストであり、作曲者、編曲者である事を心から誇りに思っているが、現時点での主な実績とメインワークは楽曲製作とエンジニアリングである。
